Chief Executive Officer
Giovanni De Giovanni is Co-Chief Executive Officer of Comtel, where he leads integration and governance initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and fostering synergies across the company's various activities and functions.
He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin and brings more than thirty-five years of entrepreneurial and managerial experience in the ICT sector. In 1989, he founded Novanext and built it from the ground up into one of Italy’s leading system integrators specializing in networking and telecommunications services, establishing it as a benchmark for the national enterprise market.
His career combines strategic vision with strong managerial expertise, characterized by a commitment to exclusively organic growth, financial prudence, continuous innovation, and the development of human capital.
Over the years, he successfully guided Novanext through multiple ownership changes and a complex series of extraordinary transactions—from Siemens to the private equity fund KKR and later Kingston UK—ensuring operational continuity, consistent business performance, and the achievement of strategic objectives at every stage, while preserving the company’s identity and growth trajectory.
In 2005, following KKR’s divestment to Kingston UK—which was interested only in the UK operations—he regained 100% ownership of Novanext through a buy-in transaction.
In February 2025, he sold a majority stake in Novanext to Comtel as part of a strategic transaction aimed at creating a leading system integration group in the Italian market and launching a new phase of growth and development for the company.
