Founded in 1992, Comtel is a leader in ICT system integration in Italy: system integration, networking and cybersecurity, cloud, managed services and certified training. An independent Italian group, listed on Euronext Growth Milan, working alongside businesses and public administrations.

Since its debut on Euronext Growth Milan in February 2025, the group has been growing both organically and through acquisitions: the acquisition of NEC's Unified Communication division, the Comtel Innovation research centre, managed services with dedicated NOC/SOC and a training division certified by the leading vendors, with 8 offices across Italy.

Our history

Comtel from 1992 to today

Founded in 1992 as Intelrom, Comtel has grown and evolved over more than three decades.

In 1998, Intelrom and other corporate entities merged into what would later become Comtel, marking the start of a new era for the company. In 2002, with the acquisition of the “Transmission Equipment and Radio Links” business unit from Alcatel Italia, Comtel launched its Carrier Division. A phase of expansion followed, with the opening of new offices and the creation of strategic divisions such as Enterprise and Voice, the latter later becoming VoIP and then VoIPCloud. In 2006, Comtel acquired another business unit from Alcatel Italia, “Technical Support and Testing of Transport Equipment,” which formed Comtel’s Assurance group.

Reorganized as a joint-stock company (S.p.A.) in 2007, Comtel continued to innovate, opening new offices and introducing further solutions, services and areas of specialization. These included Network and SBC (Session Border Controller) solutions in 2010, the Public Administration vertical in 2012, Transmission & Access solutions in 2015, and Network Security in 2019. During the same period, Comtel Academy was also launched.

In 2020, the company joined the Nextaly group, broadening its specializations and offering with the Hospitality vertical and, in the following years, with Modern Work and Data Center Solutions & Services, the Private and Finance verticals, and, in 2023, Cloud & IT Transformation and Cybersecurity solutions.

Today, Comtel drives innovation in ICT systems integration, backed by its listing on Euronext Growth Milan and the integration of NovaNext into the group.

    A new chapter of growth

    Comtel completes the merger by absorption of NovaNext, integrating skills, resources and technology specializations and strengthening its position in the ICT market.

  2. 2025

    IPO and NovaNext acquisition

    Comtel goes public on the Euronext Growth Milan market and acquires NovaNext, further strengthening its position in the ICT sector

  3. 2024

    A New Strategic Development Plan

    Comtel defines a new strategic development plan focused on growth, strengthening its expertise, and expanding its presence in the ICT market.

    Cloud & IT Transformation and Cybersecurity

    Integration of the new Cloud & IT Transformation and Cybersecurity solutions

  5. 2021

    Reorganisation and new solutions

    Sale of the "Carrier Division" branch to ComNet and birth of the Modern Work and Data Center Solutions & Services solutions

  6. 2020

    Acquisition by Nextaly

    Comtel is acquired by the Nextaly group, a financial holding company owned by Davide Cilli, who is appointed Chief Executive Officer

    Network Security

    Birth of the Network Security solution with services such as Network Segmentation, Firewall, Network Access Control (NAC) and intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS)

    Comtel Academy

    Foundation of the Comtel Academy to train young talent in the sector

  9. 2015

    Transmission & Access

    Creation of the Transmission & Access solution in the Enterprise Division, complementing the expertise of the Carrier Division

  10. 2010

    Network and SBC

    Comtel introduces new Network and SBC (Session Border Control) solutions and services

  11. 2007

    Joint-stock company

    Comtel becomes a joint-stock company (Società per Azioni), marking an important evolution in its organisational structure

  12. 2006

    Assurance Group

    Acquisition of the "Technical Support and Testing of Transport Equipment" branch from Alcatel Italia and birth of Comtel's Assurance group

  13. 2003

    Enterprise Division and Voice solution

    Creation of the Enterprise Division, with offices in Milan, Rome and Padua, and integration of the Voice solution, which later became VoIP and then VoIPCloud

  14. 2002

    Comtel Carrier Division

    Acquisition of the "Transmission Equipment and Radio Links" branch from Alcatel Italia and birth of the Comtel Carrier Division
